Our close network of local purveyors may be considered suppliers or distributors to some, but to us, they’re dear friends. By providing us with only the freshest seasonal produce, our friends enable us to create stunning dishes for all to enjoy. All of our food has a story that starts here, through generations of love, hard work, and passion for their craft.

Executive Chef

Amiko Gubbins

Chef Amiko Gubbin’s culinary career includes a laundry list of varied accomplishments, but her love for food began by watching her traditional Japanese mother in the kitchen. Her long and storied career includes time in the kitchens of Pacifica Del Mar, owning and operating Parallel 33 in San Diego’s Mission Hills neighborhood, consulting for the Cohn Restaurant Group, and even serving as a personal chef for rock icon Lenny Kravitz.

Through all the praise and accolades of her work, Gubbins has expressed a passion for healthy, sustainable food that was otherwise not satisfied in her professional career. Harvest by the Patio is a golden opportunity for Chef Amiko to practice what she loves, and to share her love for fresh cuisine. She is incredibly excited to serve her passions and love to a welcome East Village community.

General Manager

Travis Carter

Travis Carter is a seasoned veteran of the drinks scene, spending the majority of his bar career traveling and learning about different cocktail cultures across the United States. Originally from Detroit, Michigan, Travis takes great pride in making the intimidating world of craft beverage approachable and comfortable to any drinker by using simple, salt of the earth ingredients and fusing them with modern technique. He exhibits a profound reverence for the traditions and origins of the cocktail, while carving his own path in the modern bar scene. He is beyond excited to be a part of San Diego’s rich cocktail culture as a member of The Patio family.
